I’m a Professor of Operations Research at the M.I.T. Sloan School of Management. For more information about the professional side of my life, visit http://jorlin.scripts.mit.edu/. Warning: my research publications are very technical, and only comprehensible to those who are good at reading mathematics and have a lot of background on the topics of the research. I’m interested in educational issues (for colleges), especially as it relates to the use of educational technology issues. My politics are highly pragmatic and slightly left of center. I used to call myself a liberal when I was younger. I now call myself a moderate, even though my politics haven’t changed much.

Hi Jim – have been reading your OR blog with interest.

I notice you have links to a number of other OR blogs. I work in an OR department of a UK consultancy – we’ve recently started a blog. We are trying to increase readership – if it passes your acceptance criteria would you be able to include a link on your site?!

    Many thanks.
